The on-line event on the new Machinery Directive provides a concise yet comprehensive overview of requirements introduced by the new Machinery Regulation 2023/1230 and the upcoming Cyber Resiliance Act. The training lasts a total of 8h and is divided into 2 on-line (MS Teams) sessions of 4h each. This training is aimed at customers who want to prepare for compliance with the upcoming regulations. It provides a comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity principles and processes. This is particularly important for QM or R&D departments who are dealing with cybersecurity compliance for the first time or need a refresher on the latest updates based on the state of the art (i.e. IEC 62443 series update), especially in preparation for the new machinery regulation.

We emphasize the synergies achievable through a holistic “security by design” approach and delve into the IEC 62443 cybersecurity standard, which can serve as a basis for preparing for the upcoming harmonized standards. A pragmatic and realistic approach, without having to reinvent the wheel, will be presented and discussed.

• Overview of the standards and the related requirements to Operators, Integrators and manufacturers (i.e. IEC 62443-2-1 und IEC 62443-2-4)
• Overview of the risk assessment process  (IEC 62443-3-2 based)

Session 2 (4h, Day 2):

• Overview of the required development processes for Cybersecurity (IEC 62443-4-1-basiert)
• Overview of the cybersecurity measures  (IEC 62443-4-2, IEC 62443-3-3 basiert)
• Synergies between functional safety and cybersecurity (IEC TR 63069:2019 – Framework for functional safety and security)
• How can you prepare in the reality to the new machinery regulation (an example)
